What Happened Before History? Human Origins

  • Publicado em 22 Jun 2016
  • Humans. We have been around for a while now. When we think about our past we think about ancient civilizations, the pyramids, stuff like that. But this is only a tiny, tiny part of our history.

Fun fact, even after 4000+ years of civilization, there are still uncolonized tribes, who haven’t even heard of the rest of the world

This really puts in perspective how short the "modern human" experience really has been. Kind of overwhelming to think about. Great video👍🏻

Sapiens is a great book. It actually blew my mind and really put a lot of things in perspective for me.

I can imagine hunter gatherers thinking "kids these days rely to much on farming"

I always struggled in school and especially science, even though it sparked my interest. I never understood any of the concepts. Thank you for making these and in such colorful and fun animations! Reminds me as an adult what a wondorous world we live in.

I often fantasize about going back in time and trying to educate people about what we know today... think about it! How would you communicate (make a board on a wall? draw in dirt? show them how to do it)? And what would you start with? How would you structure the lessons so they kept building on the previous? What topics would you avoid (fear of insulting your audience or being treated as a witch)? What could you never explain? What would you focus on (like biology, geography, language, medicine, astronomy, music, culinary arts, or earth sciences)? If you stop and think, it's pretty amazing what you know today!! Just teaching someone how to make a fire, how to grow food, or what the sun is, would be incredible to them!

I love this channel. Thank you so much. Your hard work shows and you've made things easier and interesting to learn for my curious children. Trying to explain things myself was difficult and you've made complex topics fun and engaging.

"Today we live in the most advanced civilization humans have ever known" Funny how all generations could have said that at one point.

FINALLY someone who gives credit to out ancestors, their lives were most likely magical and awesome and they were strong and agile people, not less intelligent than us just specialized in survival amongst other things

We humans can barely co-exist amongst ourselves; imagine if we were forced to live with other species of humans.
